Landscape Designer

ABOUT THE JOB

From The Ground Up is seeking a creative and motivated Landscape Designer to join our fast-growing team. We provide landscape and hardscape design and installation services for our commercial and residential clients. As an influential leader, the Landscape Designer would possess strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed in a safe professional manner, within budget, and on time. We are looking for an energetic individual, who will bring new ideas into designs, while keeping up to date on industry products and materials. Our clients expect the best from us, and we deliver with innovative, exciting, and functional designs.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Design, or equivalent experience
  • Landscape/hardscape installation experience preferred
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Customer and quality focus
  • Ability to prioritize and produce results under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and on budget

DUTIES

  • Understand and implement ways to propose and sell high quality designs to clients
  • Prepare architectural plans, designs, estimates, and planting schemes, present to client(s) in a timely and effective manner
  • Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
  • Collaborate with site foreman to ensure the execution of construction projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines
  • Build solid business relationships with clients and communicate with them regularly
  • Assist with change order estimates and revisions as requested
  • Assist with other special projects as they arise
