Irrigation Technician

Job Description

The Irrigation Technician is under the direction of the department supervisor, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems.


●Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated.
●Repairs and replaces hoses, pipes, and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixtures.
●Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
●Replaces or repairs irrigation valves.
●Installs or repairs irrigation lines.
●May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
●Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
●Performs snow removal, as required.
●Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


●Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED
●1 year experience in irrigation or similar trade preferred
●Training available
●Valid driver's license
●Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems
●Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
●Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers
●Ability to repetitively lift up to 50lbs.
●Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems
●Ability to follow safe working procedures
●Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
●Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, while following the direction of the foreman
●Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
